THE CERTIFIED ADMISSIONS PROFESSIONAL (CAP)
Individuals may earn the Certified Admissions Professional (CAP) credential at any time by successfully passing the certification exam.
The CAP credential represents a historic milestone for the field as the first formal certification developed specifically for college admissions professionals. For the first time, those working in admissions can earn a credential that recognizes professional competence, ethical practice, and commitment to the profession.
How to Get Started
Individuals may prepare for the exam using the online courses offered through AACAP's Online Resources. Preparation courses are encouraged but not required for the national certification exam. Members are granted access to the exam through the membership portal to complete the exam virtually.

- Admissions Professional Skills; Reasoning, Problem-Solving, and Effective Communication
Certification Annual Requirements
- Successful completion of the CAP Exam
- Complete 10 hours of participating CEU credits annually

CAP Exam access passes may be purchased individually or as a group. Pricing discounts apply when purchasing 3+ access passes.
Access pass costs:
- 1: $199/access pass
- 3+: $175/access pass
